Frequently Asked Questions

What is classified to suit rebuild?
All engines are sold on a to suit rebuild basis but are guaranteed to be rebuildable and serviceable.
All moving parts and any machine work fall under these guidelines. If it is discovered an engine has damage beyond repair such as a cracked block or head the customer will be entitled to swap the defective engine for a new one or be given a partial refund. 

Each warranty claim is handled on a case by case basis.

Will these engines fit my commodore?
Yes, If you’re Holden/HSV came factory fitted an LS engine variant then one of  these engines will bolt straight in with your factory mounts.

 What accessories can I run?
Any LS1-LSA accessory drive will suit all these engine.
Example: If you have a VY LS1 you can use all your accessories on a LQ9 cast iron 6L.

If I purchasing multiple engines can I get a discount?
Yes, if you purchase multiple ENGINES we can give a trade discount. Please email us @ sales@ppsimports.com for a quote.

Can I ship engine/transmission orders to a residential address?
No, all orders must be shipped to a business address with forklift access or can be shipped to a depot as an alternative.

Are our engines good runners?
No they are not, all engines are removed from vehicles due to mechanical failure. Most of the time it is only minor but we ensure all engines turn over freely prior to shipping to give reassurance engines are a good base for rebuild.

What do these abbreviations mean?
LY4 – GEN IV 4.8L CAST IRON ENGINE
LY5 – GEN IV 5.3L CAST IRON ENGINE
LM7 – GEN III 5.3L CAST IRON ENGINE
LC9 – GEN IV ALLOY 5.3L ENGINE
LQ4 – GEN III 6L CAST IRON ENGINE
LQ9 – GEN III 6L CAST IRON ENGINE
LY6 – GEN IV 6L CAST IRON ENGINE
